In July 2001, I had Lasik surgery to correct my very high myopia and astigmatism. It destroyed my clear vision, instead, leaving me with "unfixable" complications. I soon discovered that there were many people with similar stories, and eventually co-founded the Vision Surgery Rehab Network (www.visionsurgeryrehab.org), a 501(c)(3), non-profit patient advocacy organization. As president of VSRN, I use the brochure shown above to recruit physicians to VSRN's provider resource base. I am responsible for development, concept, design and production of materials for the organization. There are also three matching, six-foot trade show banners that assemble in less than 60 seconds each. In addition to the editorial and graphic design, I also created the vision simulations to illustrate post-Lasik vision for those with poor results. More simulations may be found at the image gallery on the VSRN Web site.
